A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
