Large-scale Russian Assaults Cut Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults overnight. A minor died and three other people were injured.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
