Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille in a Shootout to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the prestigious trophy on fourteen different occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a stoppage-time leveler followed by a successful penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a comfortable win in the showdown featuring the French league winners and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele found the net in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho unfortunately turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial leveler in the dying moments to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a convincing shootout victory.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the past thirteen seasons.
